DIY Stitch Cake Pops – A Sweet Treat for Disney Fans

If you're a Disney lover or simply looking to impress at your next party, these Stitch Cake Pops are an adorable and delicious way to bring a little magic into your kitchen. Using the Disney Lilo & Stitch Cake Pop Maker, you’ll have fun turning a simple cake mix into a sweet tribute to everyone’s favorite alien!

Stitch Cake Pop Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 box cake mix + plus ingredients listed on the box
  • Blue candy melts (for coating)
  • Fondant:
    • Light blue (for eyes)
    • Pink (for inner ears)
    • Black (for pupils and nose)
    • White (for eye details, optional)

Equipment

  • Disney Lilo & Stitch Cake Pop Maker
  • Cake pop sticks
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Parchment paper or cake pop stand
  • Piping bag or Ziploc bag (for filling molds)
  • Small fondant tools, optional
  • Clean paint brush

Instructions

1. Make the Batter

Preheat the Disney Lilo & Stitch Cake Pop Maker. The surface is non-stick so no cooking spray is needed. Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions.

2. Fill the Molds

Transfer the batter to a piping bag or Ziploc bag with the tip snipped off. Pipe batter into the bottom half of each mold cavity until just full (do not overfill). Close the lid and bake for 3–4 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

3. Cool & Add Sticks

Carefully remove cake pops and let them cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, melt a few blue candy melts. Dip each cake pop stick into the melted candy, then insert it into the base of each cake pop. Let set until firm.

4. Dip in Candy Melts

Melt remaining blue candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Dip each cake pop to fully coat and gently tap off any excess. Let sit upright in a cake pop stand or on parchment paper.

5. Decorate Your Stitch

Once the coating has set, use fondant to add Stitch’s features:

  • Inner Ears: Shape small pink ovals and press into the ear impressions.
  • Eyes: Shape light blue fondant into teardrop shapes. Top with small black ovals for pupils. Add tiny white dots if desired for eye highlights.
  • Nose: Shape black fondant into a small triangle and place at the center of the face.

Pro Tip: Use a clean food-safe paint brush and a dab of water to adhere fondant details securely to the cake pop surface.

These Stitch cake pops are perfect for birthday parties, movie nights, or just a little extra Disney joy. Happy baking, and remember...ohana means nobody gets left without dessert!
